WNC closely monitors domestic and international regulations and trends and has implemented a third-party regulation cloud platform management system. This system allows for real-time tracking of regulatory changes through an intelligent regulatory database. In addition to revising internal regulations in a timely manner to ensure compliance, WNC actively invests in R&D to align with government policies aimed at promoting industry innovation, improving the business environment, and enhancing industry competitiveness. ESG Good Ideas – Showcase Your Sustainability Ideas and Ignite Sustainable Actions

To embed ESG values more deeply into corporate culture, WNC launched its first-ever ESG Good Ideas Competition in 2024, encouraging all employees to unleash their creativity and propose impactful sustainability solutions. Through an internal proposal mechanism, the competition aimed to strengthen awareness and participation in ESG topics, driving innovation from the bottom up. 

 

The competition invited entries under five major themes: Sustainable Supply Chain, Green Products, Inclusive Workplace, Social Engagement, and Green Factory. Over the course of nearly three months, a total of 121 proposals were submitted by cross-functional and cross-departmental teams, showcasing a strong spirit of interdisciplinary collaboration and creative energy. Grounded in real-world problems, the proposals offered feasible and innovative solutions spanning material substitution, process optimization, low-carbon transportation, and environmental education. These ideas demonstrated how employees are extending their sustainability thinking beyond their daily roles to products, communities, and society.

 

The inaugural competition received enthusiastic responses. After preliminary and secondary evaluations, 19 teams were selected to advance to the final pitch. On March 26, 2025, an award ceremony was held, presenting five award categories with total prize money of NT$500,000:

  • Honorable Mention Award ( 5 teams )
  • Special Popularity Award ( 2 teams ) 

 

During the competition period, five ESG Good Ideas Sustainability Workshops were held at WNC’s Hsinchu and Tainan sites. These sessions featured presentations on WNC’s sustainability actions and live Q&A, promoting greater employee understanding and participation in ESG initiatives. A total of 432 participants joined the events, effectively strengthening alignment and support for the company’s sustainability direction. In December 2024, the ESG Good Ideas Master Forum followed, inviting leading companies to share their practical experience in implementing Internal Carbon Pricing, helping employees stay ahead of global trends and enhance their ESG knowledge and strategic vision. 

 

Among the competition results, the proposal “Bamboo Replaces Plastic” won the top honor ― ESG Impact Award of the Year ― for its innovative use of bamboo material to replace virgin plastic, achieving both carbon reduction and economic benefits, and receiving high praise from the judges. Other award-winning proposals such as “Owls for a Sustainable Future”, “Digital Color Wall of the Future”, “WNC Easy Commute Program”, and “Carbon Emissions Tracking System for Components” covered a wide range of sustainability practices, including eco-conscious design, social engagement, low-carbon commuting, system implementation, and process improvements. 

 

WNC believes that every employee is a key driver of sustainability. The ESG Good Ideas Competition reflects the company’s commitment to fostering a sustainability-oriented culture and cultivating innovation starting from the employee level. By encouraging action “from a single good idea,” WNC aims to inspire more practical, impactful, and scalable sustainability initiatives. Moving forward, WNC will continue to refine the competition framework, promote full employee participation, deepen ESG understanding, and amplify its sustainable impact together with its workforce.
